I think the only LHD turbo diesels 4runners ever made were just produced for the Latin American market. You can still find good examples of actually diesel 4runners in Nicaragua & Costa Rica my uncle had a 97 diesel manual 4runner. I love Simmo discussion. Last year they were crippled with injuries, so of course replacing him was ridiculous. This year the team has started well, but his the wall. Last year no one expected us to win. This year they do due to good form early, so fans finding it hard to accept lack of success. At the moment we're struggling to move the ball, due to opposition working it out. Losing centre clearances mostly now. And not being able to move the ball well then means its stuck in our defence. They're going backwards and sideways instead of straight down the middle early in the season. Remember all the turnovers we were doing but we were offensive. Now its slow movement. That's despite our forward line being stacked with talls and rucks. No doubt all part of the club's long term strategy to see if two ruck and multiple tall forwards can work. That seems to be all part of our strategy about who we recruit, trade or delist at season end. Blatant experimentation and gifting games to some kids, can also hurt morale in some cases. Anyway, my main point is that fans expectations have been lifted in the first half of the year, they now think we're better than we are and expect that we;ll win. They didn't think that last year

Diesel is diesel , there is no such thing as premium diesel, It has no octane rating like petrol. The refining process for diesel is a standard and there is no additives !! It’s a selling scam by the fuel companies, challenge them ! Diesel has a cetane rating which controls sulphur levels and burn rate as required by law.

With the new tax will oeople be more willing to fix, repair, or 'baby' their current car to avoid the tax. I think that the 4wd media and guys like Ronny have zero idea that most car companies already have super hybrid S ready in the next 5 years and Chinese and Ford have them ready in 12 months. Car companies just wanted Australia and Africa as a cease money grab and dumping ground. Secondly super hybrids have triple the power, 1000-1500km range and can run as an EV or petrol. Over the next 5 years you will be all shown to be panick merchants and will see that we have way better options. I work in the industry and you are all carrying on like a bunch of idiots about it. It’s not about going EV at all. Legacy auto is just being forced to do better for its consumers and if they don’t the Chinese and others will.

Umpiring may be hard in a fast moving game, but there is a need for improvement, as they can make enough mistakes (through giving or not giving the frees), to decide which teams actually win the match. By making the number of umps 6 per match, one for each of the 5 "team lineups", with 2 in the centre line, which sees much of the play. The umpire in the full-forward line (and any of the other lines) is on the spot for "before in play" infringements, and a better chance to get it right. Umps could also adjudicate in "lines" adjacent to that they are there for. This may also help with mistakes made because of fatigue.

Here I'll fix the umpires, take it back to three. Teach umpires (maybe they already know) that a missed free kick is better than a wrongly paid free kick. If you miss a decision, oh bloody well, that's footy.

Boys I have an idea: Give someone 6 weeks doing AFL umpiring instead of 12 months behind bars May nor improve umpiring much but will certainly reduce the crime rate

If people can stomp up $60-$70k for a Dual Cab Ute, a lot of people are paying even more and then are head over to ARB or TJM for their thousands of dollars of upgrades, then they shouldn't really care too much about forking out another $4-$5K for the RRP for the Ute, should they? That's something to think about .... NVES is designed to get manufactures to bring in more fuel efficient vehicles, whether it's in ICE, EV, Hybrid or PHEV form. It's becoming increasingly clear that EV's should not be the only type of vehicle to be considered for our unique situation, a big country with vast area's to travel. Again, you only have to look at other counties that already have and have had fuel emission standards for years, like the USA and Canada, which is why Australia is modelling our standards to those of the USA standards and let's not forget what vehicles are the biggest selling vehicles in those two countries!! Yep, the Ford F Series, Chevrolet Silverado and RAM 1500! But how can that be when they have fuel emission standards?? Right?? So we can have fuel emission standards and still buy Utes in their thousands!

Looks like ill be keeping my 80 series that runs on lpg and petrol and my diesel 75 series till they die, maybe when we have cheap small EVs that are under $20k i will buy one for small day to day trips but will always keep my Landcruiser's for the bigger trips and keep my mazda 3 as a small run around thats cheap on fuel.

No one really gives two hoots about NVES at the moment.But in a few years time,when these vehicles are expected to achieve a rediculous 3L to 4L/100,there is going to be trouble.Businesses and families may not be able to buy a vehicle that suits their needs,without paying a premium which will be an added tax,increasing the cost of the vehicle.Or the manufacturer may decide to remove some or all of their vehicles from the Australian market.Many people and businesses will probably hang onto their vehicles for longer.Prices of some second hand vehicles will probably increase.All fun and games to reduce a negligable amount of emissions in the whole scheme of things.And to add,our late model modern vehicles are not exactly "dirty",they have been regulated by an emisions scheme which was implemented in the '70s,and made more stringent as time went on.

The Ford Ranger looks like being the biggest selling vehicle again in 2024. This is going by Vfacts. Not sure where you got the sales figures for the Landcruiser 70 Series over those three years though?? It definitely doesn't sound right? Unless you're counting all vehicles under the "Landcruiser' name, which then there's a number of different vehicles - 70 Series, Prado, 300 Series. Some manufacturers have already stated they wouldn't be able to 'turn the factories on fast enough' to take advantage of the loophole, just for the Aussie market. They could definitely stockpile vehicles though if they wanted, but that's also a risk, as the vehicles could sit there for a long time and manufactures don't want that. Any brand that sells big numbers of diesel powered vehicles and at least don't have any hybrids in their range to offset those diesel powered vehicles emissions, is going to struggle - Ford and Isuzu I'm looking at you! Isuzu don't have anything to offer, yet Ford have axed all it's passenger car range and also three of their SUV's, ICE powered Puma, Escape and the Endura! They are bringing in the Puma Gen-E (EV), but they're not going to sell enough of them, including the Mustang Mach E, to lower their emission levels. They'll need to bring in more fuel efficient vehicles, whether they are ICE, Hybrid or PHEV and sell enough of them so that they're not going to get court out. The 'Ranger Car Company' will need to diversify ..... otherwise what's the alternative? Exit the Australian market??

You don’t need to worry about solar panels for EV charging in the bush - NRMA or some other mob fitted a remote charging station with a big diesel generator, and physics says just driving a diesel car is more efficient than charging an electric one with a diesel generator. John Cadogan did a piece on it. You couldn’t make it up.

Another thing not mentioned is that vehicles like the RAM 3500 and the Silverado 2500 registered in the NB2 category (/more than one ton payload) are exempt from NVES as they’re light trucks. Not “ cars’.

As a fan, and especially as a member of the West Coast Eagles - I'm used to the AFL taking me for granted. Dillons comments are predictable and on brand. Have a look at their track record. They wilfully manipulate the rules and laws of the game to suit their own agenda, and their agenda is ruled by one thing - money. They've literally never given a shit about the fans. They've taxed my club (and hence, it's members and fans) HARD since it's inception, and they continually piss that money away on vanity projects, basket case clubs, and perks for overpaid AFL executives and corporate sponsors.
